Would you like to sharpen your practical skills in equine dentistry? This course combines morning theory sessions with afternoon wet labs, focusing on the most common findings, treatment decisions and techniques you can take directly back to your own clinic.

Programme and Content



This course combines focused morning theory sessions with practical wet labs after lunch. You will work through the most common equine dental pathologies and learn how to link clinical findings to treatment decisions and planning.

You will learn

  • A structured, holistic approach to the clinical oral examination
  • Record keeping and effective owner communication, including aftercare and follow-up
  • Occlusion and malocclusions: age-related changes, hooks, ramps and waves
  • Sedation protocols and multimodal analgesia (CRI options, local and regional blocks)
  • Diagnostic imaging in practice: oral endoscopy and radiography
  • Evaluation and treatment strategies for common oral pathologies
  • Core extraction principles and techniques, including complication management
  • Practical stations: endoscopy, radiography, periodontal treatments, cases and treatment planning

Participants are welcome to contact us in advance with specific cases or topics they would like addressed, allowing parts of the programme to be tailored accordingly.
Instructors
Mette Aarup & Anne Vedel Christoffersen


Mette Aarup, DVM, equine odontologist, fNCED, runs her own equine dental practice and works exclusively with equine dentistry. Anne Vedel Christoffersen, DVM, qualified veterinarian since 2016 with CertAVP (Equine Dentistry) and PGCert (2025), is an equine practitioner at Haderslev Hestepraksis. Together, they guide participants through both the theoretical sessions and the practical wet labs, with a strong focus on clinical decision-making and techniques directly applicable in everyday equine dental practice.
